Maiz de la Vida is chef Julio Hernandez's love letter to heirloom corn, started in 2020 with 200 pounds of dried corn, a stone mill, and a taco truck. Now anchored by a restaurant and bar in The Gulch, it has earned Hernandez James Beard recognition for some of the most soulful Mexican cooking in Tennessee.
