Nashville Area Restaurant Alliance ("NARA," "we," "us") respects the privacy of restaurant operators, vendor partners, and website visitors. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Membership applications: When you submit our Join form, we collect your name, email address, restaurant name, phone number (optional), location, number of locations, and any notes you choose to share.
- Contact and event RSVPs: When you reach out via our contact form or RSVP to NARA Connect events, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide.
- Vendor and partner correspondence: When potential vendor partners email or apply, we retain those communications for evaluation purposes.
Information collected automatically
- Standard web analytics: When you visit naranashville.com, our hosting and analytics tools (Google Analytics 4) record information like page views, browser type, approximate location (city/region), and referral source. This data is aggregated and used to understand site usage.
- Server logs: Our web server temporarily logs IP addresses and request paths for security and operational purposes. These logs are retained for 30 days then discarded.
- Cookies: Google Analytics may set cookies to distinguish users and sessions. We do not set advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser without losing site functionality.
How we use information
- To respond to inquiries and process membership applications.
- To send NARA-related communications (event invites, vendor partner updates, occasional resources). You can opt out of these at any time.
- To improve the website and understand how visitors interact with it.
- To facilitate connections between members and vendor partners only when a member specifically requests an introduction. We do not share member contact information with vendors automatically or in bulk.
- To comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your information. We share information only in these limited cases:
- Service providers who help us run NARA, including: Google Workspace (email), Resend (transactional email), Distill Works (website hosting and infrastructure), and Google Analytics 4 (site analytics). These providers process information only on our behalf.
- Vendor partners, only when a member requests an introduction or quote. We share what's necessary to facilitate the connection (typically: the member's name, restaurant, and contact email).
- Legal compliance, if required by law, subpoena, or to protect against fraud or safety threats.
How long we keep information
- Membership and form submissions: up to 2 years from your last interaction with us, then deleted unless you remain an active member.
- Active member records: retained while you are an active NARA member.
- Server logs: 30 days.
- Analytics: subject to Google Analytics retention settings (currently 14 months by default).
Your choices
- Access or deletion: Email brandon@naranashville.com to request a copy of the information we have about you, or to ask us to delete it.
- Email opt-out: All non-essential emails include an unsubscribe link. You can also email us directly to be removed.
- Cookies: Disable cookies via your browser settings. The site will still work without them.
Children
NARA is intended for restaurant operators and industry professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, please email us so we can delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures (HTTPS, access controls, reputable service providers) to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to active members by email.
